Trees for Global Benefit Uganda: A Case Study on the Failures of Carbon Offsetting

Carbon offsetting has been a favorite climate change “solution” of countries and corporations that want to compensate for greenhouse gas emissions. But how does it work in practice? Here, we present an example from Africa, where tree-planting programs often have deep impacts on local communities, Indigenous groups, and women.
