[Português abaixo] Involving organisations from countries around the world, the International Day of Action on Big Biomass will shine a spotlight on the impacts of large-scale biomass in many of the regions where our membership is active. It will be an online day of events, taking place on 21st October, and include webinars, a petition submission, report publications and more. Help us to expose the truth about #BigBadBiomass by amplifying your local campaign and building political pressure in the run up to the COP26 climate negotiations.
We are co-hosting four events on the 21st October:
- Divesting from #BigBadBiomass in the Asia-Pacific region, 9:00-10:30 UTC
- Biomass basics: An introduction to #BigBadBiomass, with a focus on Africa, 11:00-12:30 UTC
- #BigBadBiomass conversations on Clubhouse – join the Africa Biomass Working Group from 13:00 UTC!
- Burning monocultures for energy: the links between biomass, pulp, soy and steel in Latin America, 22:00-23:30 UTC
