Chair intro (by Diego Alejandro Cardona): 2015 was a year of challenges for all those who are concerned about the fate of Indigenous Peoples, local communities, their territories and their natural and cultural heritage. It has strengthened our collective resolve to defend forests, and to resist policies and narratives that tend to simplify the complex relationships that these communities have with their natural environments.
