Following our successful first workshop on April 25, we continue our journey of collective reflection and learning related to gender and forests. This series aims to strengthen the work of GFC members, allies, community organisations, and women’s groups focused on socio-environmental justice and the protection of forest ecosystems.
During our previous session, participants from diverse regions, including Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe, engaged in meaningful discussions about the challenges and advancements in our organisations towards gender justice and forest conservation.
This upcoming webinar will delve deeper into the structural oppressions, political participation, and the unique challenges faced by women, gender-diverse individuals, and communities in general in different contexts of territorial protection. We will explore vital questions and seek to build collective responses to ongoing issues related to feminism, inequality, and socio-environmental justice.
Keynote Speakers
Ochy Curiel
Renowned singer-songwriter, activist, and theorist of autonomous, lesbian, anti-racist, and decolonial feminism from Latin America and the Caribbean. Founder of the Latin American Group for Feminist Studies, Capacity-building and Action.
Francisca Fernández
Esteemed anthropologist, activist and researcher at the Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano, and member of the Movement for Water and Territories (MAT).
Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, French, Spanish, and Russian to ensure inclusive participation.
We hope you can join us for this important discussion.
