“August 16th will be remembered as a sad day for forests and biodiversity in the world. Ricardo Carrere passed away. His commitment to saving forests and biodiversity all his life has been unwavering. His staunch stand on global forest policies that destroy natural resoruces, disasterous for ecosystems, and those that violate rights of forest dependent peoples are well documented and served many of us to continue the fight into the future!”
