Despite strong opposition from Indigenous communities and local communities all over the world, biodiversity offsets and credits are mentioned in the Global Biodiversity Framework and are rapidly being rolled out. To delve deeper into the risks these offsets and credits pose to human rights – especially for women – and biodiversity, the Global Forest Coalition is co-organizing ‘Biodiversity Offsets and Credits: False solutions to a false problem’, a webinar convened by the CBD Alliance to analyze their lack of environmental integrity behind these plans.

The event is also co-organized by the Third World Network, Friends of the Earth International, and the Green Finance Observatory.
