The two-day meeting will discuss experiences from and lessons learned during the pilot phase of the ETI campaign, and to analyze the key opportunities and challenges of the year ahead. We will develop a campaign work plan including key activities and outputs for 2020 and beyond.

Objectives:

I. To raise the awareness of, engage and mobilize GFC members and allied social movements (including indigenous, peasant and women’s movements and community leaders) in affected countries, through sharing evidence-based analysis of the risks and the social, environmental and gender-differentiated impacts of the BRI and similar investment projects.

II. To build the capacity of GFC members and allied social movements to influence/campaign against the investors in the BRI and similar investment projects who disregard the social and environmental safeguards and human rights, indigenous rights and defend community rights and livelihoods, including against the corporate capture of biodiversity policy.

Virtual participation is very much encouraged, and you can join online using these zoom links (Monday 17th / Tuesday 18th). Both sessions start at 09:00 Jakarta time.
